Be sure that you know the position of the windscreen wiper switch, the headlamp switch, how to switch from high to dipped headlights, the heated rear window switch, and the demister controls

The full cockpit drill

Check:

1. Handbrake & Neutral

2. Seat Position – Clutch with knee bent & wrists with arms straight

3. Seatbelt On.

4. Headrest up above the top of your head.

5. Mirrors – internal (yellow sticker in bottom right), door mirrors

(1/4 taken up with side of car).

Know where all the following switches - (working across right to left):

1. Front Wipers – slow, fast, intermittent & wash

2. Rear Wiper & wash

3. Hazards & Horn.

4. Indicators – left & right

5. Headlamp main, dip & flash.

6. Beam adjuster

7. Heated Rear Window.

8. Rear Fog Lamp

9. Front Screen Demisters set ?

Perform the following vehicle safety checks:

1. Handbrake click test

2. Footbrake Pressure test

Check Handbrake & Neutral again; push the clutch down,

turn the engine ON and do:

4. Fuel gauge check & all ignition lights go out.

5. Power Steering check

6. Rolling Brake test (slow speed stop).
